New Delhi: NITI Aayog has signed a Statement of Intent (SoI) with the NIIT Foundation to advance digital literacy, financial inclusion, and skill development across India’s Aspirational Blocks. The initiative aims to reach 1.2 lakh beneficiaries, with at least 40% women participation, ensuring inclusive and equitable development.

The partnership was formalised in the presence of BVR Subrahmanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog, and Rohit Kumar, Additional Secretary and Mission Director, ADP & ABP, NITI Aayog.

Focus Areas: Digital Literacy, Financial Inclusion, and Skill Development

The collaboration will address key developmental areas, including:

NIIT Foundation to Lead Ground-Level Implementation

The NIIT Foundation will manage on-ground execution of the programme. This includes deploying trained mobilisers and trainers, as well as building capacity among community facilitators, self-help group (SHG) leaders, and peer educators.

The goal is to ensure that the impact of the programme continues even beyond its official duration, fostering sustainable community development.

Empowering Women and Creating Inclusive Aspirational Blocks

The partnership specifically aims to achieve 40% women participation, strengthening women’s role as economic and social contributors. By enhancing digital skills, financial literacy, and employability, the program seeks to create resilient, inclusive, and future-ready communities.

The initiative aligns with NITI Aayog’s mission to improve development outcomes and contribute meaningfully to India’s digital growth story.

Expected Impact

Through this partnership, Aspirational Blocks will experience:

  • Improved access to digital services and technology
  • Greater financial literacy and inclusion
  • Enhanced skill development and employment opportunities
  • Increased participation of women and marginalized groups

The collaboration represents a step forward in inclusive growth, ensuring that the benefits of digital and financial empowerment reach even the most remote communities in India.
