NLC India Limited Hosts Grand “All India Invitational CMD Cup Golf Tournament 2025” at Neyveli

Neyveli: NLC India Limited (NLCIL), in association with the Lignite City Club (LCC), successfully hosted the prestigious “All India Invitational CMD Cup Golf Tournament 2025” over two days at the LCC Golf Course in Neyveli. The event saw enthusiastic participation from golfers representing various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and renowned golf clubs from across the country.

such as MCL, BEML, ONGC, along with clubs like PSUs Geojit and the Cosmopolitan Club. The opening ceremony commenced with a ceremonial tee-off by Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLCIL, at 6:00 AM on July 19, 2025.

At the Players’ Meet held at Mahip Singh Hall, Motupalli addressed the gathering, which included senior officials such as Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) and P&P (Additional Charge), Samir Swarup, Director (HR), and Ashok Keote, President of LCC. Emphasizing the importance of sports and physical activity, he encouraged everyone to engage in at least one sport for a healthy lifestyle. He also lauded the uniqueness of golf and praised the excellent maintenance of the 9-hole golf course at Neyveli.

Over the two days, the tournament was marked by spirited competition and a friendly atmosphere, promoting camaraderie among participants.

The valedictory function and prize distribution ceremony took place on July 20, 2025, at Mahip Singh Hall. The NLCIL team emerged victorious, lifting the prestigious CMD Rolling Trophy. Winners received their trophies from Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman and Samir Swarup, in the presence of Ashok Keote and senior NLC officials, along with family members.

The event also featured a putting competition designed for non-golfers, including women and children, underscoring the inclusive and community-oriented spirit of the tournament.

Participants lauded NLCIL’s exceptional hospitality, the high-quality golf course, and the seamless organization of the event.

Through such impactful sporting events, NLCIL continues to promote employee wellness, strengthen inter-PSU relationships, and foster the spirit of sportsmanship across the public sector.
