New Delhi: NMDC Limited, India’s state-owned iron ore producer, reported strong growth in iron ore production for October 2026, supported by improved output from its Chhattisgarh and Karnataka operations.
According to the company’s filing with the stock exchanges on November 2, 2026, under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, provisional iron ore production increased to 5.04 MT in October 2026 from 4.27 MT in October 2025.
Despite the improvement in production, the company’s monthly sales declined compared with the corresponding period last year.

NMDC Iron Ore Sales Decline 11.6% in October
While production recorded strong growth, NMDC’s iron ore sales declined during October 2026.
The company reported total sales of 3.44 MT in October 2026, compared with 3.89 MT in October 2025, registering a year-on-year decline of 11.6%.

NMDC Cumulative Iron Ore Production Reaches 32.32 MT
NMDC also reported strong cumulative production growth up to October 2026.
The company’s cumulative iron ore production reached 32.32 MT, compared with 26.47 MT during the corresponding period last year. This represents a significant increase in output during the period.
However, cumulative sales remained slightly lower than the previous year’s level.
NMDC recorded cumulative iron ore sales of 25.67 MT up to October 2026, compared with 26.12 MT in the corresponding period up to October 2025.
The difference between cumulative production and sales indicates that production has outpaced dispatches during the period, with a larger volume of ore remaining unsold or awaiting future dispatch.
NMDC Production Growth Outpaces Sales Performance
NMDC’s October 2026 operational performance reflects a contrasting trend, with production increasing across its key mining regions while sales volumes declined.
The 18% rise in monthly production and higher cumulative output indicate strong mining activity. However, the decline in monthly and cumulative sales highlights the difference between extraction and dispatch performance.
The company’s production and sales figures will remain important indicators of its operational performance in the coming months.
