New Delhi: Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has appointed Advocate Mamta Palariya (DIN-07749007) as Non-Official Independent Director on its board.
Her appointment will continue until the completion of her tenure as Non-Official Director on the Board of Coal India Limited, which runs until March 27, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

NCL stated that her appointment will enhance the company’s board leadership and support its governance framework. Independent directors play a crucial role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and balanced decision-making in PSUs. Palariya’s extensive legal experience is expected to contribute significantly to these objectives.
Professional Profile of Mamta Palariya
An advocate by profession, Mamta Palariya has been practising in the Civil Court, Haldwani (Uttarakhand), since 1986. She holds a master’s degree, a bachelor’s degree, and an LLB from Kumaun University.
Her career includes serving as Independent Director in Bharat Wagon and Engineering Company Limited from 2017 to 2020, and ITI Limited from 2021 to 2024. Her prior boardroom experience in PSUs further positions her to guide NCL’s strategic direction.
