New Delhi: The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) has entered into a strategic partnership with SS Medical Systems India Pvt Ltd (SSMED) to promote advanced infection control and biomedical waste management technologies across healthcare facilities in India.
Focus on Microwave-Based Mobile Infection Control Systems
Under this collaboration, NRDC will promote SS Medical’s microwave-based mobile infection control systems, a technology transferred from the Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering & Research (SAMEER), an autonomous R&D institution under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
These systems are designed to:
- Reduce hospital-acquired infections (HAIs)
- Lower antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and mortality rates
- Increase hospital bed availability by improving infection control efficiency
Strengthening Public Health Infrastructure
The partnership is expected to support capacity building in government healthcare facilities and enhance India’s self-reliant public health infrastructure. By facilitating the adoption of advanced infection control technologies, the collaboration aims to make hospitals safer and more resilient.
Technology Commercialisation Agreement Signed
The Technology Commercialisation Agreement was signed at NRDC headquarters in New Delhi by Commodore Amit Rastogi (Retd), CMD of NRDC, and Dr. Monish Bhandari, CMD of SS Medical Systems India Pvt Ltd, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
Commodore Rastogi highlighted that NRDC’s mandate is to bring innovative technologies from laboratories to the market for societal benefit, adding that this partnership will accelerate the deployment of cutting-edge infection control solutions across India’s healthcare institutions.
