NSIC and AMTRON Join Hands to Promote Industry 4.0, MSMEs, Start-ups, and Skill Development in Northeast India

MoU focuses on empowering women entrepreneurs, SHGs, and youth through advanced technology training, incubation labs, and capacity-building programs across the region

Guwahati: The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) and Assam Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. (AMTRON) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Industry 4.0, emerging technologies, and entrepreneurship across the North Eastern Region of India. The agreement aims to strengthen Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), start-ups, women entrepreneurs, and Self Help Groups (SHGs) through skill development, training, and technological adoption.

Promoting Start-ups and Women Entrepreneurs

The MoU focuses on providing targeted support to start-ups, women-led enterprises, and SHGs by leveraging NSIC’s extensive training infrastructure across India. Both organisations will jointly implement training programs, capacity-building initiatives, and skill development workshops to enhance the productivity, innovation, and competitiveness of MSMEs in the region.

Technology-Driven Growth and Incubation Support

Under the partnership, NSIC and AMTRON plan to set up incubation laboratories and provide common facility services to foster innovation and Industry 4.0 adoption among enterprises. The collaboration is expected to accelerate the integration of advanced technologies into business operations and help MSMEs adopt modern practices for sustainable growth.

Boosting Skill Development Across the Northeast

The MoU will enable the creation of structured skill development programs tailored for entrepreneurs and youth in the region, promoting employment generation and entrepreneurship. These programs will also focus on enhancing digital and technical competencies essential for competing in a technology-driven economy.

Senior Officials at the Signing Ceremony

The MoU was formally signed by Mr. Kartikeya Sinha, Director (P&M), NSIC, and Mr. Narsing Pawar, IAS, Managing Director, AMTRON, in the presence of Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya, CMD, NSIC, Mr. Gaurav Gulati, Director (Finance), NSIC, and other senior officials from both organisations.

A Step Toward Sustainable Economic Development

The partnership between NSIC and AMTRON is expected to strengthen the start-up ecosystem, support MSME growth, and contribute to sustainable economic development in Northeast India. By combining NSIC’s training capabilities with AMTRON’s regional expertise, the collaboration aims to empower entrepreneurs and create a modern, technology-driven business environment.
