NTPC Limited, India’s largest integrated power utility, has appointed Dr Anil Kumar Gupta and Pankaj Gupta as Additional Directors (Independent) on its Board.
The appointments were made in accordance with an order issued by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, dated May 15, 2025, and approved by NTPC’s Board via a resolution passed by circulation on May 16, 2025, under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015.

About Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta
Dr Gupta is a renowned environmentalist and philanthropist, deeply involved in sustainability, governance, and MSME development. He is currently associated with the Central Pollution Control Board and Delhi Pollution Control Committee, and serves as Chairman of the Jhilmil CETP Society, which treats 16.8 million litres of industrial effluent daily. He holds multiple degrees including M.Sc. (Environmental Science), MBA, MA, LLB, PhD, and has completed specialized training at IIT Roorkee and IISc Bangalore.
About Pankaj Gupta
Mr Gupta is a Chartered Accountant and Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), with over 25 years of experience in statutory/internal audits, taxation, compliance, and consulting. He runs his own professional practice and is involved with various organizations such as DMA, EDMA, ITI, DINBWE, and previously served on the JZK Committee on Waqf Property Lease Rules (2018) under the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
The appointments are for a term of three years from the date of notification or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
