NTPC Commissions 32.90 MW Solar Plant in Rajasthan’s Bikaner

NTPC commissions 32.90 MW solar capacity in Rajasthan, bringing its total operational capacity to 76,475.68 MW.

NTPC Limited announced on Tuesday that it has commissioned commercial operations of a 32.90 MW solar power plant in Rajasthan. The Shambu ki Burj-2 (Kolayat) Solar PV Project, located in Bikaner, is operated by NTPC’s wholly-owned subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Ltd.

In an exchange filing, NTPC stated, “The third part capacity of 32.90 MW out of the 300 MW Shambu ki Burj-2 (Kolayat) Solar PV Project is declared on commercial operation effective from 00:00 hours of October 31, 2024.”

With the addition of this new capacity, NTPC Group’s total installed and commercially operational capacity now stands at 76,475.68 MW. Earlier, the first and second parts of the project, with capacities of 150 MW and 98.78 MW respectively, were declared for commercial operation in September.
