NTPC Mining to Auction 1.4 Lakh Tonnes of G-12 Coal from Talaipalli Mine at ₹1,405/MT on 20 March 2026

E-auction via MSTC to provide transparent sale of high-grade coal from Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, supporting power generation and industrial demand.

New Delhi: NTPC Mining Limited has announced an e-auction of 1.4 lakh tonnes of G-12 grade coal from its Talaipalli Coal Mining Project in Chhattisgarh. The auction, conducted through MSTC Limited, is scheduled for 20 March 2026, with a starting price of ₹1,405 per metric tonne.

Auction Details and Schedule

The e-auction will begin at 11:00 AM and close at 3:00 PM on 20 March 2026. The coal will be sold on an “as is where is”, “as is what is”, and “no complaint” basis directly from the Talaipalli Coal Mine stockyard in Raigarh district.

  • Total Quantity: 1,40,000 metric tonnes
  • Grade: G-12 (3700–4000 Kcal/kg)
  • Coal Size: Up to –100 mm
  • Bid Increment: ₹20 per metric tonne
  • Minimum Bidding Quantity: 500 tonnes (additional bids in multiples of 50 tonnes)
  • Pre-bid EMD: ₹500 per metric tonne

This structure ensures transparent allocation of coal and provides an opportunity for a wide range of market participants to participate.

Dispatch and Sale Conditions

Coal purchased through the auction will be dispatched from the Talaipalli Coal Mine stockyard in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. The e-auction will be conducted via MSTC’s digital auction platform, ensuring a fair and efficient sale process.

NTPC Mining officials stated that the e-auction aims to streamline coal sales, maximize resource utilization, and provide efficient distribution of coal to industries and power generators.

The Talaipalli Coal Mine produces high-grade G-12 coal, which is suitable for power generation and industrial applications. The auctioned coal will help meet domestic demand and support the energy and manufacturing sectors in India. By conducting e-auctions through MSTC, NTPC Mining ensures transparency, competitive pricing, and timely allocation of coal resources.
