NTPC REL Starts Commercial Supply of 37.50 MW from Sadla Solar Project

Power major NTPC Limited has announced that its step-down subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), has commenced commercial operations for a 37.50 MW capacity, marking the first phase of its 200 MW Gujarat Solar PV Project located in Sadla, Gujarat. The commercial supply began on December 21, 2024, as per a regulatory filing.

This addition raises NTPC Group’s total installed and commercial capacity to 76,598.18 MW, reaffirming its position as a leader in India’s energy sector.

NTPC REL, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Ltd, will further expand the Sadla Solar PV Project to its full 200 MW capacity as part of NTPC’s ambitious renewable energy plans.

The company has set a target to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy capacity and aims for 50% non-fossil fuel-based electricity generation by 2032, aligning with India’s clean energy transition goals.
