Odisha: 8 IAS Officers Transferred, Chithra Arumugam Made Principal Secy, Labour and ESI Dept

The Odisha government has recently announced a major reshuffle in the IAS cadre, transferring at least eight officers. Several officers have also been assigned additional responsibilities in this reshuffle.

The IAS transferees are:

Ms. Chithra Arumugam, a 1995-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to the Labour and ESI Department. Additionally, she will continue as the Principal Secretary to the Science and Technology Department, according to a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department. Mr. Arumugam was previously serving as the Special Secretary to the Planning and Convergence Department, with an additional charge as Principal Secretary to the Science and Technology Department.

Ms. Yamini Sarangi, a 2008-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes and GST in Odisha. She has also been given additional responsibilities as the Special Secretary to the Finance Department. Ms. Sarangi was earlier serving as the State Project Director of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan.

Mr. Sudhansu Mohan Samal, a 2010-batch IAS officer, has been named the Managing Director of Odisha Mining Corporation Limited. Previously, Officer Samal was serving as the Additional Secretary to the Water Resources Department.

According to the notification, Mr. Indramani Tripathy, a 2011-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Labour Commissioner of Odisha. Mr. Tripathy was earlier working as Director, of ST, with an additional charge as Additional Secretary to the ST&SC Development Department.

Mr. Trilochan Majhi, a 2012-batch IAS officer, has been posted as Additional Secretary to the Home Department. Previously, Mr. Majhi served as the Additional Secretary to the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.

Mr. Siddhartha Das, a 2012-batch IAS officer and Director of Sports, has been transferred and posted as the Registrar of Cooperative Societies in Odisha.

Mr. Bijay Kumar Prusty, a 2013-batch IAS officer and Secretary of ORERA, has been transferred and appointed as the Director of Estates and ex-officio Additional Secretary to the General Administration and Public Grievance Department.

Mr. Satyabrata Rout, a 2013-batch IAS officer, has been assigned the role of Additional Secretary to the Works Department. He had previously worked as an additional secretary in the finance department.

Ms. Monica Priyadarshini, a 2014-batch IAS officer currently on inter-cadre deputation to Odisha, has been appointed as the Mission Director of the Odisha Livelihoods Mission.

Ms. Poma Tudu, a 2012-batch IAS officer serving as the MD of OSMCL, with additional responsibilities as Commissioner of Food Safety and MD of TDCCOL, will continue as Director, ST.
