Odisha : Arun Sarangi Took Charge As Acting DGP

IPS officer Arun Sarangi took the charge as Odisha’s in-charge director General of Police on the last of year 2023. He is an IPS officer of 1990 batch currently serving as Special DG of Police, Training & Director, BPSPA. Mr. Sarangi will continue his role with additional charge of DG of Police, Odisha until the regular DGP joins. He has been appointed as acting DGP in place of Sunil Bansal.

Mr. Sarangi started his carrer from Talcher as SDPO and then served as SP of many districts including Rayagada, Berhampur, Jagatsinghpur, Bhubaneswar, Rourkela and Cuttack. He has also served as DIGP, Northern Central Range, Talcher and DIGP (OPS), Bhubaneswar and then IGP Law and Order, Odisha, Cuttack. The officer has been honoured with Governors’ Medal in 2004 and Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2007.
