Odisha: Senior IPS Officer & Former In-Charge DGP, Arun Kumar Sarangi, Takes VRS & Gets Appointed As Chairman Of OPSC

The government of Odisha has allowed a senior IPS officer and a former In Charge DGP, Mr. Arun Kumar Sarangi to take voluntary retirement from government service. Officer Sarangi, a 1990-batch IPS officer, has subsequently been appointed as the new Chairman of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).

According to the notification issued by the Home Department on Saturday, IPS Sarangi, Director of the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy, was appointed as the Chairman of OPSC on September 27th after he requested to allow him to retire from service from the forenoon of October 7th.

The Odisha Government has allowed him to retire from the service by relaxing the conditions contained in sub-section-2 of All India Service Rules-1958. In addition to this, it is mentioned in the notification that he is entitled to all the retirement benefits on the basis of All India Service Rules-1958.
