In a powerful show of community-led educational reform, over 500 women from across Bihar gathered at B.D. Public School, Patna, on May 1, 2025, to celebrate the third anniversary of Gargi Pathshala, a flagship initiative under the Let’s Inspire Bihar campaign. The program marked a key milestone in the movement started by Mr Vikas Vaibhav, a 2003-batch senior IPS officer of Bihar cadre. The programme aims to drive social transformation through education, empowerment, and entrepreneurship.
The celebration began with a warm welcome by children from Gargi Pathshala, followed by a ceremonial lamp-lighting and speeches from leading educators and dignitaries. The event highlighted the rapid expansion and grassroots impact of the initiative: 26 free education centers across 14 districts are now serving more than 2,000 underprivileged children, largely through the efforts of volunteer women educators.
A Vision for Every Panchayat by 2028
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Vikas Vaibhav shared the long-term vision: “We aim to expand the Gargi Pathshala to every panchayat in Bihar by 2028 so that every woman can spread Gargi’s inspiration.”
He emphasized that education must transcend barriers of caste, community, and gender, stating – “If Bihar’s large youth population remains uneducated, development will remain a distant dream.”

A Movement Powered by Women and Youth
Of the 26 active centers, 21 are run by women, showcasing the pivotal role of women’s leadership in driving social change. The campaign is directly connected to over 200,000 Biharis via WhatsApp, including 15,000+ women, creating a robust grassroots network of volunteers, educators, and change-makers.
Entrepreneurship: The Next Frontier
Beyond education, Let’s Inspire Bihar is also focused on entrepreneurial development. Mr. Vaibhav highlighted the need to create millions of jobs through startups, aiming for five successful startups per district by 2028, each capable of employing 100 or more.
“Even the most honest government can only provide 1% of the jobs Bihar needs. We must turn our youth into job creators, not seekers,” he noted.
