Palaniswamy Subramanyan Karthigeyan, IFS officer of 2004 batch was on Thursday appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Atomic Energy for a tenure of three years, up to April 6, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved his appointment.
Currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Karthigeyan was previously India’s High Commissioner to Fiji from January 2021 until December 2024. He was succeeded by Suneet Mehta (IFS:2007). Following his return, he continued in the MEA until his latest posting.
