Jalandhar: In a strong rebuttal to Pakistan’s recent propaganda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a surprise visit to the Adampur Airbase in Jalandhar, Punjab on Tuesday morning, sending a clear message that India’s strategic military installations remain fully operational and secure.
The visit came days after Pakistan falsely claimed to have targeted and destroyed the Adampur Airbase. Prime Minister Modi’s safe landing at the base and his interaction with Indian Air Force personnel served as a powerful counter to Islamabad’s misinformation campaign.
PM Modi departed from Delhi’s Palam Airport at 7:00 AM and landed at Adampur shortly thereafter. During his hour-long stay, the Prime Minister met with Air Force officers and personnel, expressing his appreciation for their service and commitment. Photographs from the visit show the Prime Minister smiling and engaging with the air warriors, reaffirming the morale and readiness of India’s defence forces.
Pakistan had recently alleged that it had struck the Adampur Airbase during cross-border military action, a claim that has now been widely debunked by the Prime Minister’s visit.
Sharing the update on social media platform X, PM Modi said, “Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation.”

Ongoing Security Developments
In parallel developments, three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were neutralized in an ongoing encounter in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. Security forces continue operations in the area, which remains tense but under control.
On Monday night, drone sightings were reported across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan. However, military officials later clarified that no hostile drones were detected and that the situation in all affected regions is currently normal.

Operation Sindoor Update
Since the launch of Operation Sindoor on May 7, India has suffered the loss of six Army personnel and two BSF soldiers due to Pakistani shelling. Fifty-nine others have been injured, and 28 civilians have lost their lives in ongoing cross-border hostilities.
The government and armed forces continue to remain on high alert across northern borders, even as Prime Minister Modi’s visit signals confidence in India’s operational capabilities and a firm stance against false narratives.
