New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Ajai Kumar Srivastava for the post of Director (Production) of ITI Limited, a Schedule ‘A’ public sector enterprise under the Department of Telecommunications. The recommendation was made on Saturday after a rigorous selection process. Srivastava currently serves as Chief General Manager at ITI Limited.
Selection Process and Candidate Shortlist
The PESB panel interviewed a total of six candidates for the Director (Production) position in its selection meeting held on April 4, 2026. Among them, four candidates were from ITI Limited, and two were from BSNL Limited.
The candidates interviewed were:
- Anjan Kumar Pramanik – Chief General Manager, ITI Limited, Kolkata
- Bindu M S – General Manager, ITI Limited
- Namita – General Manager & Plant Head, Bengaluru Plant, ITI Limited
- Ajai Kumar Srivastava – Chief General Manager, ITI Limited
- Kamlesh Kukreti – Senior General Manager, BSNL
- Digamber Kumar – Senior General Manager & Tumkur BA Head, BSNL
After a thorough evaluation, Srivastava was selected for his extensive experience in production management and strategic operations.

Key Responsibilities as Director (Production)
As the Director (Production), Srivastava will become a member of the Board of Directors at ITI Limited and report directly to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). His responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing production operations across ITI Limited’s manufacturing units
- Managing turnkey projects and providing end-to-end solutions
- Supervising the production of the entire range of telecom equipment, including switching, transmission, mobile, access products, and subscriber premises equipment
- Driving operational efficiency, quality, and manufacturing innovation
The final appointment will be subject to approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
