ITI Limited CMD Rajesh Rai to Hold Additional Charge of Director (HR) from February 28, 2026

New Delhi: ITI Limited has announced that Mr. Rajesh Rai, its Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), has been entrusted with the additional charge of Director (HR) for a period of three months, effective February 28, 2026, as per an order from the Government of India, Ministry of Communications, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

The announcement was made to the BSE Limited (Scrip Code: 523610) and National Stock Exchange of India (Scrip Code: ITI) in compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Change in Additional Charge

This appointment marks the cessation of the additional charge held by S Jeyanthi, Director (Production), who has been serving as Director (HR). Effective February 28, 2026, Mr. Rajesh Rai will assume responsibility for HR functions in addition to his existing CMD role.

The Ministry of Communications has clarified that Mr. Rai will not receive any additional remuneration for holding the dual responsibility during this period.

Profile of Mr. Rajesh Rai

Mr. Rajesh Rai brings over 30 years of rich experience in the telecommunications sector. He assumed charge as CMD of ITI Limited on February 21, 2023, and has previously held senior positions, including:

  • General Manager (Administration) at Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), Mumbai
  • Chief Technology Officer at Mahanagar Telephone Mauritius Limited (MTML), Mauritius, for 12 years, overseeing deployment and management of CDMA, GSM, 3G, and 4G networks

Mr. Rai holds the following educational qualifications:

  • B.E. in Electronics – Madan Mohan Malviya Engineering College, Gorakhpur
  • M.Tech in Computer Science – Jawaharlal Nehru University
  • MBA – Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi

His technical expertise, managerial experience, and leadership skills are expected to strengthen both the operational and human resource functions of ITI Limited during this additional tenure.

The dual role of CMD and Director (HR) underlines the Government’s confidence in Mr. Rai’s ability to streamline HR policies, manage talent, and strengthen organizational efficiency. The transition also ensures continuity in leadership and a smooth handover of responsibilities from Jeyanthi.
