PESB Opens Application Window for CMD Post at SJVN Limited; Deadline October 14, 2025

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has released an official notification inviting applications for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of SJVN Limited. The deadline for submission of applications through the PESB online portal is October 14, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria and Experience Requirements

According to the PESB notification, candidates applying for the CMD position must possess one of the following qualifications: an engineering degree, chartered accountant, cost accountant, postgraduate degree, or a graduate degree with an MBA/PGDIM from a reputed institute. Beyond academic qualifications, applicants are required to have at least five years of cumulative experience in the last ten years in fields such as finance, business development, production, operations, marketing, or project management within a large and well-established organization.

This combination of educational qualifications and diverse professional experience aims to ensure that the selected candidate is well-equipped to handle the multifaceted responsibilities of leading a major public sector enterprise like SJVN Limited.

Vacancy and Interim Leadership

The CMD position at SJVN Limited has been vacant since June 20, 2025. During this period, Bhupender Gupta, the current CMD of NHPC Limited, has been entrusted with additional charge of SJVN Limited. This interim arrangement has been critical in maintaining operational stability and ensuring continued strategic leadership at the company.
