New Delhi: In the very first set of decisions after shifting to Seva Teerth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed key files aimed at strengthening welfare measures for women, youth, farmers, and vulnerable citizens.
The decisions, taken immediately after beginning work from the newly inaugurated Seva Teerth complex, reflect what officials described as the core spirit of Seva — service to the nation and its people.
These initiatives span emergency healthcare support, women’s economic empowerment, agricultural infrastructure strengthening, and innovation-led growth.
Decisions Rooted in the Spirit of Seva
Government sources said the Prime Minister’s first approvals from Seva Teerth were deliberately focused on inclusive development, ensuring that benefits reach every section of society — from accident victims in urgent need of treatment to rural women entrepreneurs, farmers, and technology startups.
The four major initiatives cleared include:
- Launch of the PM RAHAT Scheme
- Doubling of the Lakhpati Didi target to 6 crore
- Doubling the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund to ₹2 lakh crore
Approval of Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with ₹10,000 crore corpus
1 PM RAHAT Scheme: Life-Saving Protection for Every Citizen
In a significant step toward strengthening emergency healthcare access, the Prime Minister approved the launch of the PM RAHAT Scheme.
Under this initiative:
- Accident victims will receive cashless treatment of up to ₹1.5 lakh.
- The scheme aims to ensure that no life is lost due to lack of immediate financial support for medical care.
Officials said the initiative is designed to provide timely, life-saving intervention and reduce the burden on families during medical emergencies.
2 Lakhpati Didi Target Doubled to 6 Crore
In a major boost to women’s economic empowerment, the government has already crossed the milestone of 3 crore Lakhpati Didis, achieving the target more than a year ahead of the original March 2027 deadline.
Building on this success, Prime Minister Modi has now set a new and ambitious goal:
6 crore Lakhpati Didis by March 2029
The revised target effectively doubles both the scale and aspirations of the women’s self-help and entrepreneurship movement, aimed at creating financially independent women across rural and urban India.
Officials said the expansion reflects the government’s continued focus on grassroots economic transformation through women-led development.
3 Major Boost to Farmers: Agriculture Infrastructure Fund Doubled
To strengthen India’s entire agricultural value chain, the Prime Minister approved the doubling of the loan target under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund.
- Previous allocation: ₹1 lakh crore
- Revised allocation: ₹2 lakh crore
The enhanced outlay is expected to significantly improve:
- Post-harvest infrastructure
- Storage and logistics
- Supply chain efficiency
- Rural agri-entrepreneurship
The move is aimed at improving farmer incomes and modernizing agricultural infrastructure nationwide.
4 Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0: Powering the Next Wave of Innovation
To further energize India’s startup ecosystem, particularly in cutting-edge sectors, the Prime Minister approved Startup India Fund of Funds (FoF) 2.0.
Corpus: ₹10,000 crore
The initiative will focus on:
- Deep technology
- Early-stage ideas
- Advanced manufacturing
- Breakthrough and emerging technologies
Officials said the fund will catalyse private investment, nurture innovation-driven enterprises, and position India as a global hub for next-generation technologies.
A Governance Signal from Seva Teerth
By prioritizing welfare, empowerment, agriculture, and innovation in the very first decisions from Seva Teerth, the Prime Minister has sent a clear signal about governance priorities.
The decisions collectively reflect a multi-sectoral approach — protecting vulnerable citizens, empowering women, strengthening farmers, and encouraging youth-driven innovation — reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive growth anchored in the spirit of service.
