New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the India AI Impact Expo 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, marking a major milestone in India’s artificial intelligence journey. The mega event features over 600 high-potential startups and 13 country pavilions, highlighting global collaboration in the AI ecosystem.
The Prime Minister emphasized that India’s advancements in Artificial Intelligence will not only drive transformative solutions domestically but also contribute significantly to global technological progress.
PM Modi Interacts with Startups and Innovators
During his visit, the Prime Minister toured multiple exhibition stalls and interacted with startup founders and company representatives. He was seen engaging in detailed discussions, asking questions, and understanding the innovations being showcased.
Spending several minutes at different stalls, PM Modi appreciated the efforts of young entrepreneurs developing AI-driven solutions already deployed in real-world scenarios.
In a social media post, he described the Expo as a “powerful convergence of ideas, innovation and intent,” reaffirming the government’s commitment to harnessing AI responsibly, inclusively, and at scale for human progress.

The India AI Impact Expo 2026 brings together:
- Over 600 high-potential startups
- More than 300 curated exhibition pavilions
- 13 country pavilions showcasing international collaboration
Participating countries include Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan, and African nations.
These pavilions underline growing global partnerships in the Artificial Intelligence ecosystem.
Spread Across 70,000+ Sq Metres
Spread across 10 thematic arenas covering more than 70,000 square metres, the Expo integrates global technology firms, startups, academia, research institutions, Union ministries, state governments, and international partners.
The event is structured around three thematic “chakras”:
- People
- Planet
- Progress
These themes reflect AI’s role in societal development, sustainability, and technological advancement.
Showcasing AI for Global Good
Prime Minister Modi highlighted that the Expo demonstrates the extraordinary potential of Indian talent in shaping the future of Artificial Intelligence for global good. He reiterated that India aims to develop AI solutions that are ethical, inclusive, and scalable.
