Power Finance Corporation (PFC), a Maharatna public sector undertaking, has announced a final dividend of ₹462 crore to the Government of India for the financial year 2023-24. In total, PFC distributed ₹825 crore in final dividends, which includes ₹363 crore allocated to other shareholders.
This marks the highest dividend ever paid by PFC in a financial year. For the entirety of 2023-24, the corporation paid out a remarkable ₹4,455 crore in dividends, with ₹2,495 crore—comprising the final dividend—going to the government, which holds a 55.99 percent shareholding in the company.
PFC’s impressive performance is underscored by its record profit after tax of ₹14,367 crore for the same financial year, reflecting the company’s robust financial health and commitment to shareholder returns.
The announcement has been well-received, highlighting PFC’s pivotal role in financing the power sector and its contribution to the government’s revenue.
