New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) on Thursday announced the successful commissioning of its wholly owned subsidiary, POWERGRID Raipur Pool Dhamtari Transmission Ltd, marking a significant addition to the country’s transmission infrastructure.
In a regulatory filing, the state-run transmission giant confirmed that the project was secured through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process. The subsidiary has been fully commissioned with effect from March 26, 2025, the company stated.
The project is aimed at enhancing power evacuation and transmission capabilities in the region and forms part of Power Grid’s broader efforts to strengthen the national grid and support growing electricity demand.
This development further reinforces Power Grid’s position as a leading player in India’s power transmission sector, with a strong focus on executing projects through competitive bidding mechanisms.
