Maharatna PSU Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has officially announced the commissioning of two key infrastructure projects, with the company receiving the Notification for Commercial Operation (DOCO) for both. The disclosure was made through a regulatory exchange filing.
According to the filing, the project titled “Establishment of Fibre Optic Communication System in Western Region under Master Communication Plan (Additional Requirement)” has been successfully commissioned with effect from May 17, 2025. The DOCO confirmation was received via email on June 6, 2025.
In addition, another significant project — “Transmission Network Expansion in Gujarat to increase ATC from ISTS, Part-C” — was commissioned earlier, on April 3, 2025, and the corresponding DOCO was received on June 5, 2025.
These developments are in line with Power Grid’s ongoing efforts to strengthen India’s transmission and communication infrastructure, particularly in the western region and Gujarat, thereby enhancing grid reliability and interstate transmission capacity (ATC).
Following the announcement, Power Grid’s shares edged up by 0.42% to trade at Rs. 295.50 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
