Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. announced on Monday that it has secured the inter-state transmission project titled ‘Transmission System for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Phase-IV (Part-4: 3.5 GW): Part A.’
The project involves setting up a 765/400 kV substation near Ghiror in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district, along with 765 kV and 400 kV transmission lines spanning Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. It also includes augmentation and bay extension work at both ongoing and existing sub-stations in these states, as per a regulatory filing.
The corporation emerged as the successful bidder through tariff-based competitive bidding to develop the inter-state transmission system under the build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) model. Power Grid Corporation received the Letter of Intent (LoI) for the project on November 25, 2024.
