Maharatna PSU Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has recently decided to join hands with AIIMS News Delhi to provide rudimentary health services to the unprivileged section of society.
Mr. R K Tyagi, the incumbent Chairman and Managing Director of POWERGRID met Dr. M Srinivas, the incumbent Director of AlIMS, Delhi, in the presence of other Senior Officials of POWERGRID, Mr. A K Mishra [ED (NR-I)], Mr. A Nagaraju [ED (ESMD)], and Mr. Vikram Singh Bhal [ED (CC-CMG)]. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the prospect of collaboration in CSR support to AlIMS for better service to the poor and underprivileged through automation and facilities.
POWERGRID as a responsible corporate citizen has made a 300-bed Vishram Sadan at AIIMS, Delhi for providing a comfortable and cost-effective stay to the patients and their relatives during treatment. Apart from this POWERGRID has also constructed Vishram Sadans at various hospitals all over India including KGMC, Lucknow, UP, IGIMS, Patna, Bihar, DMCH, Darbhanga, Bihar, GMCH, Guwahati, Assam, SSG, Vadodara, Gujarat, NIMHANS, Bengaluru, Karnataka and RIMS, Ranchi.
The PSU has played an indispensable role in the field of rural development, education, healthcare, skill development, environment, drinking water, water conservation and sanitation by contributing to economic and social development across the country with its CSR initiatives.
