The Assam government appointed 1989 batch Retired IAS officer Maninder Singh of Assam cadre as the Chairman of AEGCL (Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Limited) on a re-employment basis, following his superannuation on July 31, 2023. The terms and conditions of his re-employment will be finalized at a later time. Prior to his retirement, Maninder Singh was serving as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Sports and Youth Welfare, Cooperation, and Tourism Departments.
In addition, 1994 batch IAS officer Neeraj Verma of Assam cadre, who was serving as the Principal Secretary of the Home & Political, Personnel, and Power (E) Departments, and also held the position of Chairman in AEGCL and APDCL (Assam Power Distribution Company Limited), as well as Additional Principal Resident Commissioner of Assam in New Delhi, has been relieved from the charge of Chairman in AEGCL.
