The Punjab Government has acquired 167 flats in Purba Premium Apartments, Sector-88, Mohali, to be allotted to IAS, IPS, PPS, and other administrative officers posted in the district. The flats, divided into Type-1, Type-2, and Type-3 categories, will be allotted based on the officers’ status. Allottees will be required to pay house rent for these accommodations.
As per reports, the government has already deposited ₹38.85 crore out of the total ₹100.48 crore, including a 2% Cancer Cess and a 2% Purba Premium Apartment Corpus Fund, to GMADA (Greater Mohali Area Development Authority). The remaining amount is to be paid either in lump sum within 60 days or in eight half-yearly installments with a 9.5% annual interest rate.
Mohali Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, during her visit to the apartments on Wednesday, reviewed the flats and confirmed that possession of 167 flats has been taken after the Chief Minister’s approval on August 29, 2023. The team, along with PWD officials, inspected the premises to ensure they meet the required standards. Jain stated that this move fulfills a long-pending demand of officers and employees in Mohali.
