The Department of Home Affairs, Punjab, has directed an Executive Magistrate inquiry into the incident, which took place near Rajindera Hospital, Patiala. Mr. Paramvir Singh (2015-batch IAS officer), Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Patiala, has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer and has been asked to submit a probe report within three weeks.

However, Ms. Jaswinder Kaur Bath, wife of Col. Pushpinder Singh Bath, along with other family members, met Punjab Governor Mr. Gulab Chand Kataria on Thursday, seeking justice. The family has rejected the state-ordered probe, demanding a CBI investigation, citing concerns over fairness.

Meanwhile, SSP Mr. Nanak Singh (2011-batch IPS officer) has suspended 12 police personnel, including three Inspectors, for their alleged involvement in the attack. However, the family has expressed dissatisfaction, stating that the SSP has not disclosed the names of the suspended officers.
