The Punjab government has suspended Rajesh Tripathi, the Deputy Commissioner of Muktsar. According to sources, the 2016-batch IAS officer’s suspension follows some complaints against him, although formal orders are still awaited.
Tripathi, who took charge as Deputy Commissioner of Muktsar on August 16, 2024, in place of Harpreet Singh Sudan, IAS, had previously served as Additional Secretary, Revenue and Rehabilitation, and also held the role of Director, Land Records, Settlement, Consolidation, and Land Acquisition in Jalandhar.
The suspension follows unverified reports of complaints against the officer, but official confirmation and the reasons behind the suspension are still pending. Further updates are expected as formal orders are issued by the state government.
