Haridwar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a public outreach program “Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar” in the rural areas of Aryanagar (Gajiwali), Shyampur Kangri, Haridwar. The initiative aims to directly address citizens’ issues in remote areas where residents cannot easily reach the district headquarters.
Thousands of people from across the district attended the program, which included BJP leaders, local MLAs, and government officials.
CM Listens to Public Grievances on a Traditional Khatiya
In a unique rural tradition, CM Dhami sat on a khatiya (woven cot) alongside saints and locals, listening to grievances firsthand. He personally directed officials to resolve issues on the spot wherever possible.
The program provides a platform for citizens to raise issues related to electricity, water, beneficiary schemes, and certificates. Since the program’s launch on 17 December 2025, over 5 lakh grievances have been recorded across the state, many of which have already been resolved.
Immediate and Long-Term Problem Solving
CM Dhami highlighted that several applications from farmers and villagers in Haridwar’s border areas were addressed immediately during the program. Issues requiring long-term solutions are also being systematically resolved.
The program has been extended by 20 days to ensure more people can have their grievances addressed at their doorstep.
Preparations for Char Dham Yatra and Haridwar Kumbh 2027
On queries regarding the Char Dham Yatra, CM Dhami informed that the pilgrimage will start slightly earlier this year, with doors opening in April, welcoming devotees with added enthusiasm.
He also shared that preparations for the Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2027 have already begun, with several planning meetings conducted, including upcoming meetings in Haridwar to review local arrangements.
Unique Rural Gesture: CM Honoured with Pagdi
For the first time, the public meeting was conducted in a traditional village setup with a khatiya. Locals ceremonially tied a pagdi (turban) on CM Dhami, symbolically making him their representative. His simple, approachable style and energetic speech won widespread appreciation from the villagers.
Farmer Donates 70 Bigha Land for Development Projects
During the program, farmer Jai Singh from Delna village, Jhabreda Assembly announced the donation of 70 bigha land to the government. The land, adjacent to existing ITI and high school facilities, is intended for the construction of a medical college and sports ground, aimed at improving education, health, and employment opportunities for local youth.
