New Delhi: Mr R. P. Goyal, Director (Finance) at NHPC Limited, has once again taken over the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the company, effective 1st July 2025. This marks the second time Mr Goyal has stepped into the top leadership role, having previously served as CMD from March 1, 2024, to August 7, 2024.
His reappointment comes during a crucial phase for NHPC, India’s largest hydropower utility, as it strengthens its position in both conventional and renewable energy sectors.
A Veteran with Over Three Decades at NHPC
Mr Goyal’s association with NHPC spans more than 36 years, having joined the organization on 18th November 1988 as a finance professional. Over the decades, he has steadily risen through the ranks, guided by a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and dedication.
A member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Mr Goyal also holds a Master’s degree in Commerce from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. His expertise lies in the financial, contractual, and regulatory dimensions of hydropower project development and operation – areas crucial to NHPC’s strategic growth.
