New Delhi: In a strategic move to bolster cyber protection across Indian Railways’ digital platforms, RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, a Mini-Ratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has secured a significant contract from the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC).
The work order, valued at ₹18.56 crore, pertains to Comprehensive Cyber Security Intelligence Services, and will be executed over a three-year period till 30th September 2028.
Project Scope: Cybersecurity Intelligence for IRCTC
According to a regulatory filing, RailTel has been awarded the contract to deploy an end-to-end cybersecurity framework for IRCTC, aimed at protecting its vast digital infrastructure that supports ticket bookings, catering, tourism, and more.
The ₹18.56 crore contract (including taxes) marks a critical step towards enhancing cyber resilience and data protection across IRCTC’s IT systems, given the increasing dependency on online services in Indian Railways.
Recent Win: Rs 396 Crore Contract in Bihar
This cybersecurity project comes shortly after RailTel bagged another high-value contract worth ₹396 crore under the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC). The BEPC contract is related to infrastructure construction and digital connectivity in schools, reflecting RailTel’s growing footprint in both education and technology integration sectors.
With this dual win, RailTel continues to solidify its position as a key technology enabler for government-led digital initiatives.
