In a major development that underscores its growing presence in India’s digital infrastructure sector, state-owned RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Zoram Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. (Zenics) for the implementation of the Mizo Fibre Grid Network (MFGN) Project.
Order Estimated at ₹43.99 Crore
The project’s estimated value, as per the bid, is ₹43.99 crore, though the final figure will be confirmed upon issuance of the Purchase Order (PO). The entire project is slated for execution by September 5, 2026, marking another key milestone in RailTel’s efforts to extend high-speed broadband connectivity to the northeastern region.

RailTel’s Expanding Order Book and Growth Outlook
As of May 2025, RailTel’s order book stands at a robust ₹6,616 crore, backed by a strong pipeline of projects across domains such as Kavach (train collision avoidance system) and LTE (Long-Term Evolution) technologies. The company is also optimistic about a 25–30% revenue growth in the current financial year (FY25), driven by fresh project acquisitions and aggressive execution.
Notably, the company is eyeing significant traction in the Kavach segment, with anticipated orders in the range of ₹4,000–5,000 crore over the next 4–5 years, positioning RailTel as a key digital enabler in India’s railway modernization and safety enhancement efforts.
Stock Performance
Despite the positive news, RailTel shares closed at ₹425.85, down 1.54% at the close of the trading session. Analysts, however, maintain that the company’s strong order pipeline and aggressive revenue targets continue to support a bullish long-term outlook.
