New Delhi: IRCON International Limited, a leading Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Railways, has announced a key change in its senior leadership with the appointment of Raj Kumar (ITS) as the new Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the company.
Raj Kumar officially assumed charge as CVO on October 1, for an initial tenure of three years or until further orders, as specified in the appointment order issued by the Ministry of Railways.
Leadership Transition to Strengthen Vigilance Framework
With his appointment, Vivek Varshney, who had been holding the additional charge of Chief Vigilance Officer, relinquished the responsibility on the same day. Varshney’s interim stewardship of the vigilance portfolio has now been formally handed over to a full-time appointee.
The appointment of Raj Kumar comes at a time when public sector organizations are placing renewed emphasis on transparency, integrity, and proactive vigilance. His role as CVO will be critical in ensuring that IRCON continues to follow ethical business practices and adheres to the highest standards of governance.
Raj Kumar: A Veteran Administrator with Rich Experience
Raj Kumar is a 1997-batch officer of the Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) and brings with him a wealth of administrative and technical experience. Throughout his distinguished career, he has served in multiple strategic roles across several government bodies, including:
- Ministry of Communication
- Ministry of Defence
- NITI Aayog
His extensive exposure to governance, policy-making, and regulatory frameworks is expected to further strengthen IRCON’s internal control systems and promote a culture of accountability across the organization.
