Two eminent women IPS officers who received the prestigious President’s Police Medal last year will now be given medals by Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Ms. Smita Srivastava, a 1995-batch IPS officer, received this award in recognition of her exemplary work in overseeing the safe and smooth movement of people stranded in Rajasthan during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Ms. Binita Thakur, a 1996-batch IPS officer, secured the award by combating the dacoits in Karauli and dismantling the drug mafia in Baran. She also played a key role in breaking the notorious Pardhi gang network and was pivotal in uncovering a major international arms licence racket in Sriganganagar.
