Dehradun: Tourists visiting Rajaji Tiger Reserve can now enjoy jungle safaris and spot a variety of wildlife, starting Saturday, November 15, 2025. The park administration has completed all preparations, and gates will open for visitors following a ceremonial inauguration.
Rich Wildlife Awaits Tourists
Rajaji Tiger Reserve’s Chilla and Motichur ranges are home to numerous species, attracting domestic and international tourists. Visitors can expect to see elephants, tigers, leopards, deer, sambar, spotted deer (cheetal), and peacocks, among other wildlife.
Motichur Range Officer Mahesh Semwal stated that the park has made all arrangements for a smooth safari experience. The range hosts over 600 elephants, translocated tigers, white sambar, and several other wildlife species. A special ticket counter is also under construction for visitor convenience.
Entry Fees Remain Unchanged
The park administration has not increased entry fees for tourists. Current charges are:
- Indian tourist: ₹150
- Foreign tourist: ₹600
- Indian vehicle: ₹250
- Foreign vehicle: ₹500
Students receive a 50% discount on entry fees. Overnight stay at the Forest Rest House costs ₹1,000, and professional camera charges are ₹500.
Strict Vehicle Regulations to Protect Wildlife
To ensure safety and preserve wildlife, unregistered or unapproved vehicles (locally known as “Daggamar vehicles”) are banned from entering Motichur Range. Only registered vehicles and authorized taxis will be allowed to conduct jungle safaris.
Rajaji Tiger Reserve’s reopening promises tourists an immersive wildlife experience while maintaining strict conservation measures to protect its rich biodiversity.
