Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has issued transfer and posting orders for four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including the appointment of new Superintendents of Police (SPs) in three districts.
The reshuffling, which took place on May 20, 2025, has seen key officers reassigned to new responsibilities within the state’s police force.
The following officers have been affected by the recent transfer orders:
Lokesh Sonewal (IPS: 2015, RJ), who was serving as SP, SOG, Jaipur, has been transferred to Jhunjhunu as the new SP.
Shailendra Singh Indolyia (IPS: 2017, RJ), who was awaiting posting orders, has been posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Headquarters and Traffic at the Police Commissionerate, Jodhpur.
Hari Shankar (IPS: 2019, RJ), who was previously serving as SP, Balotra, will now take on the role of SP, Hanumangarh.
Amit Jain (IPS: 2020, RJ), who was DCP, Headquarters & Traffic at the Jodhpur Police Commissionerate, has been transferred to Balotra as the new SP.
This restructuring reflects the state government’s efforts to optimize the administration of law enforcement and improve the policing system across Rajasthan. The appointments come amid ongoing initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the police force and address key law and order issues in the regions concerned.
Impact on Local Administration
The new appointments are expected to bring fresh leadership and direction to the police forces in these districts, with each officer bringing their own experience and expertise to the role. The posting of new SPs in Jhunjhunu, Hanumangarh, and Balotra aims to bolster the law enforcement framework and ensure a more efficient response to the unique challenges in these areas.
As the new officers take charge, it is expected that their leadership will play a key role in maintaining law and order, as well as furthering the state’s efforts towards effective policing and crime prevention.
