The Rajasthan government has recently undertaken a major bureaucratic reshuffle by transferring as many as 91 IPS, 142 RAS, and 12 IAS Officers across the state. In a long-awaited reshuffle, the government on Saturday announced the transfer of 91 IPS officers, which included the replacement of Superintendents of Police (SPs) in 34 districts. The reshuffle marks one of the most extensive administrative changes in recent months.
Key IPS Transfers Reflect Strategic Realignments
Mr. Biju George Joseph (1995-batch IPS officer) continues as Jaipur Police Commissioner, indicating the state government’s sustained confidence in his leadership. Mr. Gaurav Srivastava (2004-batch IPS officer) has been given charge of the Udaipur Range, while Mr. Rahul Prakash (2006-batch IPS officer), credited with effectively curbing cybercrime in Bharatpur, has been appointed as the Inspector General (IG) of Jaipur Range. Mr. Omprakash has been entrusted with a key assignment as Police Commissioner in Jodhpur.
142 RAS Officers Transferred; One Placed on APO
Alongside the IPS reshuffle, the government also transferred 142 Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers. One officer has been placed on Awaiting Posting Orders (APO), a standard procedural status before new assignments.
Posting Orders Issued for Newly Appointed IAS Officers
As part of the broader administrative overhaul, two senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers were transferred. In addition, 10 newly inducted IAS officers received their first official postings, marking the beginning of their field-level responsibilities in the state.
This sweeping reshuffle is seen as an attempt by the government to strengthen administrative efficiency and ensure better law and order management across Rajasthan.
