Mumbai: Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCF), a Government of India undertaking, has announced the promotion of Mr. Ajit A. Thatte as General Manager (Urea), Thal Unit, effective March 1, 2026.
The company disclosed the development to stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

RCF formally informed the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE about the senior management change as part of its regulatory compliance requirements.
The announcement was signed by Mr. J.B. Sharma, Executive Director (Legal & Company Secretary) of the company.

Leadership Transition at Thal Unit
Mr. Ajit A. Thatte has been elevated to the position of General Manager (Urea), Thal Unit, through an internal promotion. His appointment is effective from March 1, 2026.
The leadership change reflects RCF’s continued focus on strengthening operational excellence and leveraging experienced professionals to enhance efficiency in its fertilizer manufacturing operations.
Professional Background of Mr. Ajit A. Thatte
Mr. Thatte holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Petrochemical Engineering from M.I.T., Pune, along with an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety.
He joined RCF’s Thal Unit as a Management Trainee in 1991 and brings over 34 years of extensive experience in:
- Urea plant operations
- Fire & Safety Department
- Industrial safety management
- Operational efficiency improvement
Over the years, he has played a significant role in maintaining high safety standards and operational performance at the Thal Unit.
Focus on Operational Excellence
RCF stated that the promotion underscores the company’s strategy to reinforce its core fertilizer manufacturing business by entrusting leadership roles to seasoned professionals with deep domain expertise.
The Thal Unit is one of the key production facilities of the company, contributing significantly to India’s urea supply.
