Pune, 30 June 2025 — Rear Admiral V. Ganapathy has assumed charge as the new Commandant of the Military Institute of Technology (MILIT), Pune. MILIT, a key arm under Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, trains mid-career officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and allied nations in cutting-edge military technologies.
A Career Shaped by Command and Learning
Rear Admiral Ganapathy brings a strong mix of frontline command and academic credentials. He has held important operational and staff appointments and served in key instructional roles. He is an alumnus of the College of Defence Management, National Defence College, and Defence Services Staff College—institutions known for producing India’s top defence planners.

Joint Training to Drive Future Readiness
As Commandant, he will steer MILIT’s mission to train officers across services in joint warfare technologies. His leadership will help shape a new generation of defence leaders ready for integrated operations.
