New Delhi: REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd. (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Ltd., handed over the project-specific SPV for the Bellary-Davanagere ISTS Transmission Project under the TBCB (Tariff Based Competitive Bidding) route to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL).
The handover ceremony was attended by senior officials from RECPDCL, PGCIL, and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL). Mr. Saurabh Rastogi, CEO of RECPDCL, handed over the SPV to Mr. Pankaj Pandey, Executive Director, PGCIL, in the presence of Mr. Arup Samanta, GM & CS, and Mr. Ashwini Kumar Das, GM, PGCIL.
Project Overview: Bellary-Davanagere Transmission Scheme
The Bellary-Davanagere ISTS Transmission Project aims to strengthen the power transmission infrastructure in Karnataka. Key components of the project include:
- Augmentation of transformation capacity at Davanagere and Bellary Power Stations
- Establishment of the Bellary-Davanagere 2nd 400 kV Double Circuit line, approximately 72 km in length
- Implementation period: 24 months
The project is expected to enhance grid stability, transmission efficiency, and energy reliability in the region, supporting Karnataka’s growing power demands.
Strategic Significance
The handover of the SPV under the TBCB route reflects RECPDCL’s commitment to accelerating power transmission infrastructure development and promoting collaborative partnerships with PGCIL for efficient project execution.
