RITES Secures USD 20.6 Million Contract from ICVL Mozambique for Supply and Maintenance of Locomotives

Contract includes supply of Cape Gauge diesel electric locomotives and 24-month maintenance support

New Delhi: RITES Limited, a leading government-owned engineering consultancy and railway infrastructure company, has secured a USD 20.6 million international contract from ICVL Mozambique for the supply of Cape Gauge Diesel Electric Locomotives along with preventive maintenance support.

The company received the Letter of Intent (LoI) on January 27, 2026, and informed the stock exchanges in compliance with SEBI Listing Regulations (Regulation 30).

Scope Includes Locomotive Supply and Maintenance Services

Under the contract, RITES will supply brand-new Cape Gauge Diesel Electric Locomotives designed for African railway networks. In addition to the supply, the company will provide preventive maintenance services, including consumable spare parts, at the project site.

Boost to RITES’ Global Railway Footprint

This order further strengthens RITES’ presence in the African railway sector and reinforces its position as a trusted exporter of rolling stock and railway engineering solutions. The long-term maintenance component ensures sustained engagement and revenue flow over nearly three years.

The company clarified that the contract does not involve any related-party transactions, and neither the promoter nor the promoter group has any interest in the awarding entity.

Strategic Focus on International Markets

According to the stock exchange filing, the project aligns with RITES’ strategy to expand its footprint in overseas infrastructure and rolling stock exports. Delivering high-value locomotives to international clients highlights the company’s competitive strength in the global railway engineering market.
