New Delhi: In a major boost to its urban infrastructure portfolio, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a ₹447 crore contract from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC). The project falls under Package D2C-02 of Phase-IV of the Delhi Metro expansion, a key segment of the city’s fast-growing mass rapid transit system.

The Letter of Award (LoA) issued by DMRC mandates RVNL to undertake part design and construction of a 7.298 km viaduct, spanning from chainage 1202.782 meters to 8501.25 meters. In addition to the elevated track, the contract includes the construction of platforms for seven metro stations and installation of Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) structures at each location.

Seven Metro Stations Included in the Project Scope

The stations covered under this package are-

  • Pushp Vihar
  • Saket District Court
  • Pushpa Bhawan
  • Chirag Delhi
  • Greater Kailash-1
  • Andrews Ganj
  • Lajpat Nagar

This stretch will form a critical section of the Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block corridor, which is part of Delhi Metro’s Phase-IV network aimed at enhancing connectivity in densely populated urban pockets and reducing vehicular congestion.

No Related Party Involvement in the Contract

RVNL clarified in a regulatory filing that neither its promoters nor any related parties have any interest in DMRC, affirming that the transaction does not constitute a related party arrangement under applicable corporate governance norms.

RVNL’s Growing Role in Urban Transport Infrastructure

This new contract further strengthens RVNL’s standing as a major player in India’s urban transport and metro construction space. The company has been steadily expanding its order book, with successful project executions in railways, metros, and other mass transit segments across the country.

As a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, RVNL’s involvement in high-value metro infrastructure projects aligns with the government’s push for efficient and sustainable urban mobility solutions.

About RVNL

Established in 2005, RVNL has played a critical role in bridging the infrastructure gap in Indian Railways by delivering over 152 railway projects covering more than 16,500 km. Beyond railways, the organization has expanded its footprint across diverse infrastructure domains including metros, highways, and international projects.

RVNL is currently executing metro projects in key cities such as Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Surat, Ahmedabad, and Nagpur. With a proven track record and consistent “Excellent” ratings from the Department of Public Enterprises for fourteen consecutive years, RVNL continues to evolve from a railway-focused PSU into a major player in India’s overall infrastructure landscape.
