New Delhi: Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd has bagged a significant railway electrification order worth ₹129.09 crore from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL). The contract involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 2×25 kV traction overhead equipment (OHE) system in the Yavatmal-Digras section under Central Railway’s Nagpur Division, Maharashtra.
The electrification project, part of Indian Railways’ broader mission to modernize and decarbonize its infrastructure, is expected to be completed within 18 months.
A Step Towards Greener Railways
Electrification of rail routes is a key component of the Ministry of Railways’ goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. Projects like this not only cut diesel dependency but also increase the speed, safety, and efficiency of rail transport in India.

Project Scope & Technical Highlights
The scope of work includes:
- Designing and installing 2×25 kV Traction OHE systems
- Erection, testing, and commissioning of trackside electrification infrastructure
- Integration with existing rail systems and safety standards
This dual-voltage system is widely adopted for heavy-haul and high-speed rail corridors and is known for better energy efficiency and load handling.
