Mumbai: In a rare and heartwarming intersection of cinema and civil service, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan made headlines this weekend when a busload of IPS trainees arrived at his Mumbai residence, sparking wild speculation online. Videos and images from the scene flooded social media, with fans and netizens trying to decode the surprise visit.
A Visit Rooted in Inspiration, Not Investigation
Contrary to rumours that suggested a hush-hush film project or something to do with Aamir’s luxury car collection, the visit was a planned meeting between the actor and the current batch of IPS officer trainees.
A spokesperson from Aamir Khan’s team clarified, “The IPS trainees of the current batch had requested a meeting with him, and Aamir Khan hosted them at his residence.”
The officers, currently undergoing training, were reportedly keen to meet the actor who once portrayed an upright IPS officer in the cult classic Sarfarosh (1999)—a performance that continues to inspire public service aspirants more than two decades later.

Aamir Khan: Reel-Life Cop, Real-Life Inspiration
This isn’t the first time the Dangal star has interacted with India’s future bureaucrats and law enforcers. Following the success of Sarfarosh, in which he played the role of honest and committed police officer ACP Ajay Singh Rathod, Khan became something of a role model among young aspirants preparing for the Indian Police Service.
Over the years, he has regularly hosted or met IPS trainees from various batches, engaging in candid conversations about duty, nationalism, and societal change.
Sources suggest that during the recent visit, Khan spoke about the power of storytelling in shaping public thought, and listened to the young officers’ views on building a more inclusive and just India.
Aamir’s Cinematic Journey Continues
While still remembered for his role as an IPS officer on screen, Aamir Khan continues to leave a mark in cinema. His latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by R.S. Prasanna and co-starring Genelia D’Souza, has struck a chord with audiences, grossing ₹165 crore nett in its first month in India.
Khan is also set to be the Chief Guest at the 2025 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), where a retrospective of his work—including Sarfarosh—will be featured. Speaking about the festival, Aamir said:
“With Sitaare Zameen Par, we attempted to tell a story that embraces inclusivity and neurodivergence. I’m eager to share my journey and shed light on stories that matter.”
What’s Next for Aamir Khan
The actor will soon be seen alongside superstar Rajinikanth in Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. He’s also gearing up for a collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani in an ambitious biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema.
