New Delhi: The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), with the support of the Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoLE), Government of India, organised a high-level Interactive Workshop on the Implementation of Labour Codes for Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs). The event, attended by over 160 participants from more than 40 PSEs, focused on demystifying the provisions of the newly introduced Labour Codes and guiding PSEs on their practical implementation.
Inaugural Session Highlights
The inaugural session featured addresses from key dignitaries:

- Mr. K.P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman, SCOPE & CMD, NBCC
- Mr. Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE
Dr. Mahendra Kumar described the new Labour Codes as a historic milestone for worker welfare, highlighting their objectives and key provisions. He praised SCOPE’s role in creating a platform for collaborative dialogue, helping diverse stakeholders understand the reform measures.
Mr. K.P. Mahadevaswamy emphasized that the reforms represent a significant leap for India, creating a labour ecosystem that is transparent, trust-based, and globally aligned while ensuring social justice. He underlined SCOPE’s commitment to supporting PSEs in knowledge dissemination and capacity building to facilitate a smooth transition to the new framework.
Mr. Atul Sobti lauded the Labour Codes and highlighted the pivotal role of the Public Sector in ensuring effective implementation. He reaffirmed SCOPE’s commitment as a key integrated partner in spreading awareness and understanding of the codes through specialized programs across the country.
