Two employees from South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) were recently recognised for their exceptional contributions to India’s historic achievement of producing 1 billion tonnes of coal. The Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, along with the Minister of State for Coal & Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey, felicitated them during the 12th round of the commercial coal mine auction in New Delhi.
Among the awardees, Prashant Sharma, General Manager (Mining) and Sub-Area Manager of Bijuri Sub-Area in the Hasdeo Area, was acknowledged in the officer category. His efficient management and timely completion of production targets in Baherabandh and Bijuri Underground Mines were instrumental in optimising operations and enhancing productivity.
In the employee category, Patil, a senior overman at Jagannathpur Opencast Mine in the Bhathgaon Area, was honoured for his key role in meeting the mine’s overburden (OB) removal target. His expertise and dedication significantly contributed to maintaining high operational efficiency.
SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Harish Duhan congratulated the awardees, emphasising their commitment and hard work. He highlighted this achievement as a proud moment for SECL and encouraged employees to sustain their efforts with the same enthusiasm.
