New Delhi: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) Raigarh Area has approved ₹84.48 lakh under its CSR initiative for the repair and strengthening of the high-level bridge over the Mand River on the Kharsia–Chhal Road. The project, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Raigarh district administration, aims to enhance regional connectivity and facilitate safer transport for residents and businesses.
Vital Connectivity Corridor Between Kharsia and Chhal-Dharamjaigarh
The Kharsia–Chhal Road is a crucial route linking Kharsia with Chhal-Dharamjaigarh and surrounding regions. The Mand River bridge plays a key role in daily commuting, goods transportation, and local commerce.
Over time, the bridge’s deteriorating condition began to disrupt smooth traffic flow, posing safety risks and affecting trade. Recognizing the urgency, the district administration recommended immediate repair and reinforcement measures, prompting SECL’s CSR intervention.

Once completed, the repair and strengthening project is expected to:
