Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, a 1994-batch IPS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as the Additional Director General (ADG) in the Border Security Force (BSF). Currently serving as the Special Director General of Police, Armed Police, in Tamil Nadu, Mr. Aggarwal’s new role has been confirmed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The official order, issued on Sunday, January 19, 2025, states that Mr. Aggarwal will hold the position for four years from the date he assumes charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Previously, on December 29, 2024, the Tamil Nadu government had promoted Mr. Aggarwal and three other IPS officers to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP).
